§ 6-30. Fee schedule.

  • The definition of "cost of construction" includes all labor, material, subcontracts, overhead, profit and other costs necessary to properly complete the job for its intended use. All building permit "cost of construction" valuations shall include all site work including parking lots. The minimum "cost of construction" valuations for new residential construction shall be as set forth in the following chart unless modified by the method as described in the next sentence:

    0 to 1,800 square feet = $80.00 a square foot
    1,801 to 2,500 square feet = $100.00 a square foot
    2,501 to 3,500 square feet = $125.00 a square foot
    3,501 and larger = $180.00 a square foot

     

    When a claim is made that the foregoing costs are not appropriate to the project, the owner/contractor must establish a lesser figure by using the Marshall and Swift Valuation Service report.

    The following fee schedule, as referred to in section 107.4 of the building code, is adopted.

    Demolition (all): $50.00 for the first 1,000 square feet of structure and $1.00 per 100 square feet after that, plus $25.00 sewer and water inspection.

    House moving: $100.00 for the first 1,000 square feet of structure and $1.00 per 100 square feet after that, plus $25.00 sewer and water inspection.

    (6)

    Storage tanks: $50.00 per tank.

    (7)

    Foundation only: $50.00.

    (8)

    Permit cancellation: $25.00.

    (9)

    Reinspection: $50.00.

    (10)

    Temporary certificate of occupancy: $25.00 if no inspection required and $50.00 per special or additional inspections.

    (11)

    Building, electrical, mechanical, plumbing code appeals: $50.00.

    (12)

    Permit renewal: $25.00.

    (13)

    Duplicate permit card: $5.00.

    (14)

    Emergency inspection: $25.00 plus 2 times the inspector's salary per hour or fraction thereof for after hours inspection.

    (15)

    Plan review: When construction plans are submitted for multifamily, commercial or industrial projects in accordance with subsections 6-28(a)(2) and (3), a nonrefundable plan review fee shall be submitted with the plans. The plan review fee shall be equal to twenty (20) percent of the building permit fee not to exceed one thousand five hundred dollars ($1,500.00). The plan review fee is in addition to the building permit fee.
