§ 6-80. Inspector's right of entry.

  • (a)

    The electrical inspector, in the discharge of his duties, may enter any building or premises at any time during business hours, or at any reasonable hour. The right to enter any building as herein granted shall apply to those buildings where a permit has been issued for electrical work or to any building where the inspector has reason to believe that a dangerous or unsafe condition exists. Before inspecting any building for which a permit has not been issued, the electrical inspector shall notify the owner and/or the maintenance electrician of his intention to make an inspection, and request that someone representing the owner accompany him on such inspection.

    (b)

    The owner or owner's representative shall not prevent the inspector from inspecting the premises to determine if unsafe or illegal wiring exists.
