§ 2-114. Conflicts of interest and special legal matters.

(a)
Prosecution of all cases coming before the district court of the city in which the
city is a party and all such cases which may be appealed from such court shall be
provided by a city prosecuting attorney employed by the city according to the annual
budget approved by the board of directors. The attorney employed to prosecute in district
court shall have the authority to retain prosecuting services from the attorneys selected
pursuant to section 2-113 or from other qualified attorneys to provide prosecuting services in the event the
employed prosecutor is unable to prosecute because of conflicts of interest or schedule.
(b)
In the event of conflicts of interest with reference to the attorney selected pursuant
to section 2-113 or special legal matters, the city administrator may enter into individual matter
contracts for legal services pursuant to the provisions of section 2-182(d) of this Code.
