§ 24-12. License tag.

It shall be unlawful for any motor vehicle to operate upon the streets, highways, boulevards or alleys of this city, except it shall display regulation license tags of the state or its home state for the current year, and if it be a car of a resident of this city, the license tag of the city for the current year. Such numbers shall be displayed conspicuously in an upright position and in an unobstructed view on the car for which they were issued, and be kept reasonably clean.
