§ 2-225. Public information.

The city administrator is hereby authorized and directed to periodically provide a public information program for the citizens of the city which will:

(1)

Encourage property owners to consider obtaining a sewer back-up endorsement to their real property insurance policy which would provide protection in the event of a back-up of the sanitary sewer system; and,

(2)

Encourage property owners to construct in the sanitary sewer service lines of their properties any plumbing devices determined by the citizens to appropriately protect against sanitary sewer system back-up into the structures located on the properties.

In providing such information to the citizens, the administrator is authorized to prepare and include information releases within utility billings produced by the city. Such information shall also be released through news media from time to time as determined by the city administrator.
