§ 18-96. Board of trustees.

  • (a)

    For the purpose of managing and controlling the public library of the city, the mayor shall, with the approval of the board of directors, appoint a board of trustees of seven (7) citizens of the city at large to serve as a board of trustees of the library.

    (b)

    Two (2) of the initial appointees to the board of trustees shall hold terms for two (2) years, two (2) for four (4) years and three (3) for six (6) years as if the appointees commenced their term of office on January 1, 1985. All subsequent appointees shall be appointed for terms of six (6) years.

    (c)

    The board of trustees shall have those powers and matters regarding the organization of the board of trustees as set forth in A.C.A. tit. 13, ch. 2, subch. 5 [§ 13-2-501 et seq.].
